On the heels of a tremendously busy weekend, our C members joined other C members in the Virginia Region for a half week of summer camp in dressage, show jump, XC, and switch rides. We really lucked out with the weather!

OATLANDS COMPETITORS! Ride times are now posted!

June 22, 2022--Save the Date for XC Schooling at Oatlands!

Mark your calendars! Join us for our XC schooling day at Oatlands on Tuesday, June 28, 8 am-4 pm.

Cost is $50. Free XC schooling pass for those who volunteer at our June 25-26 horse trials.

Bring your own water, as there is no water on site.

Bring Coggins (even if you already entered in our June 25/26 horse trials HT).

Credit card accepted on site or checks made out to “Loudoun Hunt Pony Club.”

A waiver must be signed. Waiver provided on site.

No Intermediate schooling. A Few preliminary jumps will be open. Training and below jumps will still be set.

Rain date June 29.

June 18, 2022--LHPC Members Hard At Work Prepping Oatlands

Our members were hard at work this morning on prepping the XC jumps for next weekend’s horse trials at Oatlands in Leesburg, VA—June 25-26! Did you know that we have an Intro course for those new to eventing? Perfect for riders with greener horses or younger riders wanting to gain experience!

June 18, 2022--D Rally!

Congrats to our D members on a successful rally today! Our D2 team placed second and our D1s placed 9th. Well done to Kate L, Dexter H, Frankie S, Ryleigh S, and Katie M.!

June 15, 2022--LHPC Spring Lesson Series a Great Success!

And that’s a wrap for our spring mounted lesson series! Our members had six weeks of flat, jump, and XC schooling. Thank you to our amazing instructors, Jeff Good and Kelty O’Donaghue, for a great series.

June 4, 2022--Show Jump Rally!

Congrats to our LHPC team “Jump Around” who took 6th overall and 5th in horse management at this weekend’s VRPC show jump rally at Frying Pan! Congrats to Ryleigh S, Katie H, Madeline R, Grace C, and Katie M, and a special shout out to Grace C who earned a clear round award (four rounds with no faults!)

May 21, 2022--Eventing Rally!

Congrats to scramble team Deep Run Hunt PC/Loudoun Hunt riders "Mixed Nuts" who braved the heat at the Virginia Region Pony Club eventing rally this weekend. The team earned 7th overall and a 1st in horse management. Picture of LHPC and DRHPC riders!

Dressage Rally 2022 was a great success!

Congratulations to LHPC team “Whip and Neigh Neighs” (Grace C , Madeline R, Katie H, and Kate L) and the LHPC and Deep Hunt Run Pony Club (DHRPC) scramble team (Katie M and Dexter H. ).

A great turnout today at the Virginia Region Pony Club Horseless Rally at Morven Park—even in the chilly March weather! LHPC teams “Equine Assisted Gravity Check” (Audrey H, Evie M, Dexter H, Annabel R, and C Advisor Gabrielle D) and “All We Talk About is Horses! Yes Yes Yes!” (Ryleigh S, Frankie S, Madilyn M, Brendi C, and C Advisor Katie H) put their horse management and rally knowledge to work! We’re ready for rally season!

March 17, 2022--Last Day to Register for Horseless Rally

Today is the last day to register for Horseless Rally on March 27th at Morven Park International Equestrian Center! Encourage all your friends (even non-members) to join in the fun! The rally will be fun and you'll learn a lot (and teach a lot) while working with your friends and your "stick horse!" And if you plan to participate in pony club rallies this season, Horseless Rally will show you the ropes!

March 1, 2022--Congrats to Annabelle C. on the Margaret Good Leadership Award

This winter, our very own member Annabelle C. was awarded the Margaret Good Leadership Award for her outstanding initiative, volunteerism, pay-it-forward spirit, and excellent guidance of Loudoun Hunt Pony Club. This is the first year of the award, which is named after Margaret Good, our emeritus District Commissioner who served as our club’s leader since the 1980s and who established two annual horse trials at Morven Park and Oatlands—a 40-year-old tradition in the region that eventers look forward to every year. We are so proud of you, Annabelle! Pictured below is Margaret Good awarding Annabelle the Leadership trophy.

February 28, 2022--Congrats to our Quiz Rally Winners!

Congratulations to our teams who competed in the Virginia Region Pony Club Quiz Rally on Sunday, February 27th.

Kate L. earned the top overall individual score in the senior D division.

Our senior D team, “Horseshoe Society,” (Katie H, Kate L, and Rachel P.) took first place in the senior D division.

Our junior D team “IncrediHooves” (Evie M, Annabel R, Brendi C, Madilyn M) took second place in the Junior D division and our team “Horse Power” (Lacie C, Ryleigh S, Frankie S, Dexter H) took fourth.

The last day of our winter ground lesson series ended with a mock quiz rally in preparation for next week’s Quiz Rally!

February 15, 2022--What is Horseless Rally?

Our club is excited to host the Horseless Rally for the Virginia Region Pony Club on March 13th at Morven Park Equestrian Center. This rally is excellent prep for new Pony Club members, younger members, and interested friends who want to learn what happens at pony club. This is a non-competitive, educational rally. Teams will consist of 3-4 "riders" and a required C Advisor.

February 13, 2022--Ground School and Bandage Wrapping

Our D members had a fun ground school lesson in polo and bandage wrapping and brushed up on their knowledge of human and equine first aid knowledge. Quiz rally is in two weeks, and our teams are ready to go!

February 12, 2022--Registration is Open for Horseless Rally!

Registration is now open for the Virginia Region Pony Club Horseless Rally, hosted by Loudoun Hunt Pony Club at Morven Park on Sunday 3/13.

This rally is excellent prep for new Pony Club members, younger members, and interested friends who want to learn what happens at pony club. This is a non-competitive, educational rally. Teams will consist of 3-4 "riders" and a required C Advisor. There will be an award for the "most original horse" and participation awards for all. This rally will be hosted by Loudoun Hunt Pony Club.

Lunch is available for pre-purchase during registration or you can pack your own. Please bring your own drink.

Our D members made horse treats, brushed up on their knowledge of equine anatomy, reviewed tack cleaning equipment, and cleaned their tack for inspection.

January 17, 2022--USPC Discipline Promotions Video Contest!

The USPC Discipline Promotions Committee invites members to share with us your favorite discipline in the Discipline Promotions Video Contest!

We encourage our members to get creative! This is a fun opportunity to show us why you love your sport. Both competitive and resource disciplines are invited to submit videos.

All applications and videos must be submitted by February 1, 2022.

Each discipline's winners will be announced March 1, 2022 with videos featured on USPC Official social media and communication platforms.

Members may choose to submit more than one application highlighting a different discipline per application.
